Oz Lotto

Australia's national Tuesday night lottery — seven prize divisions with jackpots starting at $2 million.

How Oz Lotto works

Oz Lotto is drawn every Tuesday evening at 8:30pm AEST. Players select 7 numbers from a pool of 1 to 45. During the draw, 7 winning numbers plus 3 supplementary numbers are drawn from the same barrel, creating seven prize divisions.

The game has been running nationally since 1994, making it one of Australia's most established lottery products. Jackpots start at $2 million and roll over when Division 1 is not won, meaning prizes can grow to significant amounts over consecutive draws.

Oz Lotto tips

Lottery draws are random events — no strategy can predict or influence the outcome. However, understanding the structure of the game can help you make informed decisions:

  • System entries increase coverage by including more combinations of your chosen numbers, improving your chances of winning across multiple divisions — at a higher ticket cost.
  • Syndicates allow you to pool entries with other players, sharing both cost and prizes. Make sure all syndicate arrangements are clearly documented.
  • Set a budget before you play and treat your ticket as an entertainment expense, not an investment.

Draw schedule

Oz Lotto is drawn every Tuesday at 8:30pm AEST. Entries close approximately 30 minutes before the draw. Results are published on this site within 30 minutes of the draw.
